Adenosine

Holistic active principle

Actives

Anti-aging, sensitive skin, radiance ... What if the most effective way to act globally on the skin consisted of turning to the greatest simplicity? This is precisely the proposition of Pharma Waldhof with Adenosine. An elementary compound of DNA and a remarkable nucleoside, it is involved in both energy transfer and cellular communication. The presence of specific receptors at several levels allows it to modulate many biological pathways and thus offer a true holistic action.

Adenosine is a nucleoside present in all the cells of our body, and is involved in key biochemical processes including energy transfer (Adenosine triphoshphate) or signal transduction (Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate). Pharma Waldhof, a subsidiary of the Aceto group with over 70 years of expertise in the biochemistry of nucleic acid, has developed a highly purified Adenosine (> 95%) obtained by fermentation. Already widely used by the pharmaceutical industry, its involvement in cellular communication and the growing interest in pure and perfectly defined active ingredients are raising growing interest in the cosmetic industry.

The efficacy of Adenosine CG from Pharma Waldhof is supported by a clinical study as well as a body of literature on its properties and mode of action.

Visible anti-aging efficacy from 0.1%

A randomized clinical study on 84 volunteers in a cream containing 0.1% of Adenosine versus placebo, showed a significant reduction in wrinkles at 3 weeks.

These results are related to the biological properties of the molecule. It stimulates the growth factor FGF-7 acting on the extracellular matrix and promotes the synthesis of collagen I. It also has a moisturizing action via the stimulation of AQP3.

Anti-inflammatory action

By binding to the A2 receptor, adenosine decreases the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF alpha, IL-6, IL-8 and IL-12). By binding to the A3 receptor, it reduces the expression of TNF alpha, IL-1B and IL-6 and increases the release of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10.

Lightening properties

By binding to the A3 receptor, Adenosine helps regulate AMPc and decreases the synthesis of melanin .

Hair fiber growth

The action of Adenosine on the stimulation of FGF 7 in the hair follicle also induces benefits on the thickness and growth of hair fibers.
